At a Los Angeles City Council Meeting On Friday, February 5th, 2010, City Councilmember Richard Alarcón presented United Way of Greater Los Angeles and the LA Community Development Department (CDD) with Certificates of Appreciation to recognize their efforts to promote greater access of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and expand free tax services available to LA City residents through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

At this City Council Meeting, a resolution was also unanimously passed by the Councilmembers to declare Saturday, February 6, 2010, as “LA EITC Awareness Day,” which coincided with the Partnership’s Community Tax Day in Pacoima, CA. Please continue on to read our post on the Pacoima Tax Day.
